Buddy's Pizza uses trans-fat-free oil
Here's two things about Buddy's Pizza that I did not know, even though both supposedly debuted back in '05!
First, Buddy's Pizza made the switch to trans-fat-free oil products in its six full-service restaurants and three carry-out locations. The company said its introduction of trans-fat-free oil is in line with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's nutrition recommendations for adults and children as seen in My Pyramid, a food pyramid that encourages people to
eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and to minimize oils.
Second, Buddy's also has a gluten-free pizza for customers with gluten intolerance, or celiac disease. The gluten-free pizza is served crustless on organic parchment paper and is endorsed by the Celiac Foundation, according to the company. The fact that it is endorsed by the Celiac Foundation must be comforting for those who can't afford to ingest any gluten. I heard the news about this gluten free pizza from a good friend of mine who has Celiac disease, and she said it was really good. It's tough to find a good gluten free pizza crust, so this is great news!
Thanks, Wendy for letting us know about the gluten free pizza!
