Ashton Cider Mill is a pleasant little pitstop on the OCM Michigan Cider Mill tour. It's short on widespread entertainment like Blake's but there is a lot of charm to the place. I really admired the cleanliness and simplicity of the farm.

Some cider mills in Michigan can come off as campy or touristy. Diehl's Cider Mill in Holly is neither. It's a no-frills, pure cider mill experience. Despite the lack of flash, there is still plenty to see, do and eat. In addition to the usual cider, donuts and pies, they have a fully stocked general store/market on site. Diehl's offers plenty to do for kids and adults including tours, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, kiddie maze and playground equipment.

Erwin Orchards and Cider Mill has been a western Oakland County tradition for over 90 years. They boast that they are "still growing" though it's hard to imagine it becoming any bigger. Erwin's Cider Mill is huge! The farm is designed for large groups of people and reminds me a lot of Westview Orchards in Romeo.

You can't run a site like Oakland County Moms dot com without reviewing the historic Franklin Cider Mill. Since 1837 Franklin Cider Mill has been serving cider. It's open from Labor Day weekend through Thanksgiving weekend from 8a-6p on weekends and 7a-6p on weekdays.

One trip to the Paint Creek Cider Mill makes me wish the restaurant didn't close for good as I never experienced the restaurant when it was open. The beautiful restaurant is now the Parks and Rec Commission for Oakland Township and Paint Creek Trailways Commision. Oh well, at least we still have the cider mill. The charming store and grounds look beautiful and are well maintained.

Parmenter's Cider Mill is no secret to the community of Northville. It's a very popular, active place even on weekday mornings. I'd classify it as a mid-size mill and attraction.
