Bloomer Park Sledding Fun

February 27, 2010

Our kids really enjoyed the sled hills at Bloomer Park. The park is open Th-Sunday from 9a-5p during the winter. On Saturdays and Sundays there is usually someone in the main booth and admission is 5 dollars. If you go on Thursday or Friday, you likely won't encounter anyone taking toll money. They won't open the sled hills to the public unless conditions are ideal for sledding. Once you enter the park, cross the main parking lot and veer off to the right to follow the path to parking for the sled hill.

There are 3 sledding runs at Bloomer Park on the large sled hill with walkways between each hill for kids to climb after their run. On the weekends, there's usually a park attendent parked nearby making sure conditions are OK and everything is going well. I really like that the hills are steep enough for fast sledding and each hill is divided by a walkway that makes it safe for even young riders. We've been here to sled before and we've never had to experience any long waits to sled. The lines move pretty quickly and it's very well organized.

Bloomer is located on John R road 1 mile north of Avon road. For more info http://www.rochesterhills.org/city_services/parks/parks/bloomer_park.asp
