Come explore Maybury State Park’s amazing woods and trails from the vantage point of snowshoes or cross country skis. Try your hand at either of these fun, calorie-burning, winter recreational activities right at the park! This Rec 101 program is FREE, courtesy of REI and the Friends of Maybury State Park.

Pre-registration for your preferred time slot – 11am, 12pm, or 1pm for either activity is required. This event is weather dependent and may be canceled due to lack of snow. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicles entering the park. The Recreation Passport has replaced motor vehicle permits for entry into Michigan State Parks and is available when renewing your license plate tabs at the Secretary of State or at any park office.

Meet at the Kensington Farm Center for a snowshoeing adventure in the park. Enjoy a guided hike down the trail along the Huron River that will include hot chocolate. Bring your camera and a warm hat for the stroll in nature. There is an entrance fee for the Kensington Metroparks which is $5.00 per vehicle per day or $25.00 annual fee for all 13 Metroparks. Register online for this program filled with early literacy and theme-related activities. You'll follow your childs lead and do some (or all!) of the activities.
