It's a combination of late evening activities, no school in the morning, and more daylight. All of these put together are a great make up for later bedtimes. I try to keep the kids on a schedule just as they are during the school year, but during the summer break it's difficult.
Nevertheless, to keep me sane (and productive with my work), I bumped their bedtime only about 1/2 hour later, and only break this new schedule for special events, e.g. a family outing, a kid's event at the book store, etc. This slight change in the bedtime still allows for more fun to be fit in within a day's time, without having to necessarily leave an activity to hurry home and get to bed. Meanwhile, we can still have some sort of structure within our day. And, that's a good thing sometimes!
What do you think? Do you leave the summer break bedtimes similar to that of the school year, or do you fluctuate from them?
