It’s a debate that’s been raging for years with no signs of slowing down: which diaper variety - cloth or disposable - is best?
Aside from the health benefits, another big reason why I nursed my kids was the huge cost savings. For me, it was an easy decision. But, to dangle a cost-savings opportunity over my head that involved cloth diapers, I declined. Maybe I did not know all the options and I rushed into a decision. It was pretty much decided when my mom told me she used to dump the diapers into the toilet and rinse them before washing. Yuck!
But, technically, when it comes to cost, cloth diapers win the competition. Plus, they may be better for the environment. But cloth can be less absorbent and a bigger contributor to diaper rash, and some disposables are biodegradable. Hence, the debate continues.
