Trick or Treat in Friendly Forest at Clintonwood Park. Kids ages 2-9 can Trick or Treat and collect Halloween goodies from their favorite cartoon and fairy tale characters. Trick Or Treat Trail If your children are too small, want more goodies or bad weather has put a damper on your plans, you will enjoy this safe alternative to door-to-door trick or treating. Come, wearing your costumes, and walk through this indoor, happily haunted trail and collect candy and small toys along the way. Juice and snacks will be provided at the end of the trail. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Resident rates apply to those residing in Springfield Township. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but will be accepted at the door. The Museum Mystery Tour at the Detroit Institute of Arts
Commune with the spirits of long-departed artists in the American, European and Contemporary galleries. This self-guided tour will explore secrets about the artists whose work haunts the DIA (5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48202). You've never seen the galleries like this: eerie lighting and sounds in the dark, but we'll keep it fun and family friendly. Costumes are strongly encouraged! Fall Festival at the Detroit Zoo
The Detroit Zoo celebrates the change of seasons with the annual Fall Festival Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2. The two-day festival features live entertainment, children’s activities, hayrides and seasonal food. All activities take place in the Main Picnic Grove from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.  Entrance to the Fall Festival is free with regular Zoo admission. There are additional fees for the children’s activity areas and hayride. Erwin's has a "Children's Spooky Barn" that runs Labor Day Weekend through Halloween and  features light-hearted scares for the pre-2nd grade crowd for $2 (accompanying adults are free).
