Birmingham hosts its biggest retail event of the year on Saturday July 28th from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Downtown Birmingham streets will be closed to traffic, and stores will come outside with sales. This annual event combines a huge sale with live entertainment, kids activities and more.

Oakland County Parks and Recreation is hosting Yappy Days Pet Expo on July 29th from 11a to 3p at Orion Oaks Dog Park for owners to pamper their dogs or bring home a new canine friend as an addition to the family.

Monday, July 30th is National Cheesecake Day. To celebrate, Pateet's Famous Cheesecakes in Oak Park, Michigan is offering the first 100 customers a free slice of cheesecake! You can also enter a drawing for a chance to win free cheesecake for a year (one cheesecake per month).

Milford will host their first Summer Palooza in Downtown Milford on July 13th through July 15th. Main Street, between Commerce and Liberty, will be filled with sidewalk sales from from 10a-9p on Friday and Saturday and 11a-4p on Sunday.

Kids love shopping at garage sales, but they also like to be on the selling side at times. My kids love visiting my moms house when she's holding a garage sale. This considered, I can only imagine that kids would love the Annual Kids Only Garage Sale put on by RARA on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 10am-1pm at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It will be an educational and entrepreneurial event.

Celebrate Oxford takes place August 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2012. The family fun event runs through the streets of downtown Oxford and features Live entertainment, kids town, a classic car show, an art show, and an Oxford Business Expo.

The City of Farmington Hills is sponsoring a Family Fun Fest Carnival from August 15 through 18, 2013 at Founders Park. The Carnival will run Thursday and Friday from 5p-11p, Saturday from noon to 11p, and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.

The Carnival will feature rides, games, food, pony rides, and a petting farm, plus special events held each day including a variety of free entertainment acts on the Carnival stage.

In an amazing display of community spirit by a city viewed by some as down and out, more than 100 events, involving hundreds of community organizations and thousands of people, will come together Saturday August 4, 2012, for the 6TH Annual ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day.

City residents will use thousands of volunteers to build new homes, clean up neighborhoods, hold education events and health fairs, sign up students for college scholarships, plant community gardens and much more.

Royal Oak will host a Women's Night Out event at BlackFinn American Saloon, on South Main Street in downtown Royal Oak, from 6-9pm on Wednesday, August 8th.
