The annual Downtown Farmington Founders Festival returns July 20th through July 21st, 2012 to downtown Farmington. You can shop at Crafters Marketplace, visit the Kids Zone with games and rides, cheer on the Saturday morning parade or take a guided historical tour of Farmington, Michigan.
Birmingham hosts its biggest retail event of the year on Saturday July 28th from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Downtown Birmingham streets will be closed to traffic, and stores will come outside with sales. Kids love shopping at garage sales, but they also like to be on the selling side at times. My kids love visiting my moms house when she's holding a garage sale. This considered, I can only imagine that kids would love the Annual Kids Only Garage Sale put on by RARA on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 10am-1pm at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It will be an educational and entrepreneurial event.

The City of Farmington Hills is sponsoring a Family Fun Fest Carnival from August 15 through 18, 2013 at Founders Park. The Carnival will run Thursday and Friday from 5p-11p, Saturday from noon to 11p, and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.
The Carnival will feature rides, games, food, pony rides, and a petting farm, plus special events held each day including a variety of free entertainment acts on the Carnival stage.
In an amazing display of community spirit by a city viewed by some as down and out, more than 100 events, involving hundreds of community organizations and thousands of people, will come together Saturday August 4, 2012, for the 6TH Annual ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day.
City residents will use thousands of volunteers to build new homes, clean up neighborhoods, hold education events and health fairs, sign up students for college scholarships, plant community gardens and much more.
