Rocket restaurant is a historic landmark in Pontiac. It's been there for 41 years, and if you live there, you've been there.
Not much has changed since opening in '69. The restaurant has maintained its tradition and history. It's not fancy, but rather a very casual diner type restuarant.
The menu has a wide variety of foods - burgers, hotdogs, subs, salads, shakes, greek food, mexican food, dinners (e.g. meatloaf, chicken), seafood, appetizers, and sandwiches.
My husband and I tried the Rocket burger. The Rocket burger is the head-to-head competition of the McDonald's Big Mac. My husband got the double Rocket burger which had four patties. I stayed with the traditional 2-patty. It was as tasty as a gourmet Big Mac! We got fries as well. I wouldn't call them shoe string or thick cut, but somewhere in between. They were served hot, which is the only way I like them.
Detroit Lions Meijer Kids Club: An experience that will last a lifetime
When I signed my son up for the Detroit Lions Meijer Kids Club my initial thought was that doing so would be a "no-brainer". After all, the swag alone you receive for signing up is worth far more than the $20 price. While the merchandise and perks you receive for $20 is fantastic, the experience that goes with the membership is nearly priceless.
Signing up for registration is a breeze. Just follow the instructions on the Detroit Lions website here . Amy Jones, the Youth Football Assistant for the Lions, runs a tight ship. She and her staff handle the day to day operations brilliantly and with plenty of updates and contact via e-mail.

Do You Have A Kinesthetic Learner?
A Kinesthetic Learner describes my son exactly. I always noticed how odd it was that he would be jumping around, but hearing and taking everything in at the same time. It's easy to assume he's not paying attention and to get frustrated. But, with further observation, it seems he has better focus when he is allowed to be moving.
It's difficult to get teachers at school to understand this learning process. Some are reluctant to accept it for fear that it will disrupt the classroom. But, it's a completely legitimate form of learning for some.
Being a Kinesthetic Learner is not like being a visual learner or auditory learner. Visual learners learn by seeing and taking notes. Auditory learners learn by listening.
Easing the back to school jitters
As we prepare for back to school, we experience a range of emotions. Some children feel excited to start a new year, but at the same time get nervous about what's ahead. OCM gathered some middle school kids for a Channel 4 (WDIV) segment to talk about their worries with regard to starting the new school year. (see video)
