Early in the summer my husband won a trip for my 8 year old son to attend a Detroit Lions Youth Football Summer Camp Session and some other Lions related goodies (http://www.oaklandcountymoms.com/mommy-diary/1975-sign-up-now-for-detroit-lions-youth-football-summer-camps-and-academies). Update w/pics. Fairy-tale ending for the 4 young girls robbed of their lemonade stand money
Recently, in my morning ritual of reading The Oakland Press online, I came across this article about a group of three nine-year-olds and a six-year-old who were robbed at their lemonade stand. Three thugs stole the $40 they had earned and the experience "ruined their weekend." Stories like this no longer surprise me. being vandalized. It's OK for me to learn lessons about idiots, but it's a shame that a group of kids under 10 years old have to learn them. It's too early.

The kids got TREMENDOUS support

Edible Hibiscus flower has health benefits
You may have some hibiscus growing in your backyard, but have you ever tried eating hibiscus blooms? I have about four hibiscus plants in my yard and my neighbor mentioned to me that the blooms were not only edible, but that they have some valuable health benefits. I removed some blooms to dry out and I tried it myself. I made a traditional Hibiscus tea and it was pretty tasty.
