Yates Cider Mill - Rochester Hills

September 22, 2009

alt Yates Cider Mill is a Fall institution for residents of Macomb and Oakland County and has been proudly serving cider since 1876. It's open daily during the Fall from 7am - 7pm on weekdays and from 9am - 7pm on weekends and is the perfect spot to stop and relax with some cider along the banks of the Clinton River.

Yates Cider Mill has an apple tent that features the latest apples in season as well as a vast array of apple products and Fall amenities. They make their Yates Cider Mill fudge daily inside the Frankenmuth Fudge Shoppe and you'll be surprised at how many different types of fudge exist! New to Yates last year is their Ice Cream Shoppe. The Yates Cider Mill Ice Cream Shoppe has many desserts made from their donuts and hand-dipped ice cream.

You won't find too much in the way of activities for children at Yates Cider Mill compared to some other Michigan cider mills but there is enough to keep a child occupied. There is a small caged in area for children to feed the goats and they do offer $5.00 pony rides on the weekends. You won't find any haunted houses, corn mazes or hayrides at Yates Cider Mill but there is plenty to do on the grounds themselves. Directly across the street from the mill is beautiful Yates Park which has plenty of places to relax and fish. The Yates experience is in the cider and its serene location.

Food Network even featured Yates on a special on "Fall Favorites". You can watch their video here
