Jucy Lucy Hamburgers Recipe. This is more of an idea than it is a recipe. I was watching the Food Network's Man vs. Food and I saw when Adam visited Minneapolis' Jucy Lucy restaurant to try their awesome burgers. Basically, a Jucy Lucy is a cheeseburger that has the cheese inside the beef, rather than on top. They looked so delicious, we decided to try and make our own. The Jucy Lucy restaurant uses American cheese, but I think using your favorite cheese is ideal.
All you have to do is prepare the beef patties as you prefer (some add egg, onion, bread crumbs and spinach to keep the patties moist). You lay one patty down, place your favorite diced cheese in the middle. Then place a second patty on top, being sure to pinch the two patties together all around the edges.
Finally grill the burgers and cook them medium well. Top with sauteed onions and/or mushrooms.
