My review of the Palm Pixi by Verizon

Monday, 22 February 2010 15:37 Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

The name of this phone completely suits its style. The Palm Pixi is small enough to fit nicely in your palm, and is pixi cute! But aside from being adorable, it's functional, too, and in many EASY ways.

For example, if you're trying to find a certain function, like the camera, just start typing in the letters C-A-M... and the phone goes right to the camera function!

These Gluten Free products are the best I've found

Sunday, 07 February 2010 00:00 Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

After years of searching, sampling, cooking, tasting, dumping and trial and error, I've finally narrowed down my favorite gluten free products for specific foods. This stuff is expensive, so once you find something you like, you tend to marry it.

My review of the new Swype technology

Wednesday, 03 February 2010 12:02 Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

This review is about the Omnia phone by Verizon. I had this phone for a while because there was a lot to discover and review:). Two main differences this phone has from other phones are the Cube and the Swype Technology. The Cube is 3D cube user interface which allows you to reach certain screens easily. The new Swype Technology is an on-screen keyboard that allows you to drag from letter to letter within a word instead of picking up and tapping each letter. It can improve your speed of entering text onto your phone. You can watch the video below to see how this works.

It took me a bit to get used to Swyping, but then it got easier and I liked it. The phone is pretty forgiving as well - good for me:). You don't have to be perfect with it and it can

CVS offers affordable generic drug plan

Monday, 01 February 2010 00:00 Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

I went to get a prescription filled today. I put it off for too long because my new insurance has terrible coverage and I was afraid of what it was going to cost. (I'm sure I'm not the first person to forego my health due to medical costs.) When I got to the CVS window I asked if they had any kind of supplemental plan for expensive meds or little coverage, totally not expecting them to say yes. The pharmacist replied that they have a Health Savings Pass program that allows you to get a 90 day prescription (for a generic med) for only $9.99. They include over 400 different generic medications - I found mine easily on the list. You need to pay a $10 annual fee, but it seems worth it to me.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. Basically she told me to wait and see what my meds rung up as, and then I could pay for it myself or sign up for the program on the spot if it was cheaper. The form was so easy to fill out, I did it while waiting in line.

Does the Sprayza kids airbrush really work?

Saturday, 23 January 2010 10:49 Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

My initial response to this question is "no." Here's why.

When you see this thing on TV or on the website (www.sprayzafun.com) it's very misleading. Sprayza is a kids airbrush that works without batteries. You take the airbrush tool, attach a marker to the end, and then blow into it. When you blow into it, the air passes the marker tip which then blows ink onto the paper. It uses stencils so you can make many different drawings. The one I saw on the website comes with these really big stencils and
