CVS offers affordable generic drug plan

I went to get a prescription filled today. I put it off for too long because my new insurance has terrible coverage and I was afraid of what it was going to cost. (I'm sure I'm not the first person to forego my health due to medical costs.) When I got to the CVS window I asked if they had any kind of supplemental plan for expensive meds or little coverage, totally not expecting them to say yes. The pharmacist replied that they have a Health Savings Pass program that allows you to get a 90 day prescription (for a generic med) for only $9.99. They include over 400 different generic medications - I found mine easily on the list. You need to pay a $10 annual fee, but it seems worth it to me.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. Basically she told me to wait and see what my meds rung up as, and then I could pay for it myself or sign up for the program on the spot if it was cheaper. The form was so easy to fill out, I did it while waiting in line.
