Kiddie Klub - Rochester Hills

June 22, 2011

Here are some reviews and testimonials about the Kiddie Klub in Rochester Hills from a couple of Michigan moms:

I went to Kiddie Klub in Rochester Hills today and it was wonderful!! It is very clean, they have healthy food,

there is a fun toddler area and then 3 rooms with imaginative play (dress up clothes, a play kitchen, puppets and cars and push/ride toys). They also have the typical playscape, but they had large balls in there which was extra fun and lots of balls all over the place which my son loved! I think it is probably geared best for a 2-4 year old, but my 15 month old loved it too! Wed. are Woddler (2 and under) day for $5 unlimited play.

I went to Kiddie Klub and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very similar to Jungle Java but done better. The playscape is a bit smaller than Jungle Java so I think it is best suited for kids 5 and under. My kids had an awesome time. Also, I was able to bring my laptop and get a ton of work done since they have free WiFi. And, the place is small enough that it is easy to work and have the kids play around comfortably while still keeping an eye on them.

Kiddie Club has announced restructuring plans. They are going to close their indoor play area while keeping their daycare options open. Here is an e-mail I received from Kiddie Klub:

Dear Customers,

As of June 30th, 2011, the Indoor Play Center will be closing at it's current Rochester Hills location. We'd like to thank you for your business and express how much we have enjoyed having you as valued customers.

We are in the process of evaluating other options and may re-locate in a neighborhood near you. Please stay tuned to Facebook and our emails for further updates.

Our Childcare and Preschool Center will remain open in it's current location, and will continue with it's current hours of operation. We are now enrolling for the fall and still providing drop-in childcare!

The play center will be open from 9am - 7pm for open play through June 30th.  We will be having fun specials and sales on our current Melissa & Doug inventory. Check out Facebook or our website activity calendar for details. The cafe will be open for snacks/drinks only starting on June 27th.

We have truly enjoyed our time with you and your families, and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Sincerely,
KiddieKlub Management

I recently took my son to Kiddie Klub with high hopes, and am sad to say that I was quite DISAPPOINTED!! The facility is awesome; I loved the separate areas of play (kitchen, dress up, trains). The playscape was nice, too, although there were several ‘drops’ in it that seemed quite dangerous to myself and some other moms. Definitely wanna go into the playscape if your child is a bit younger. Mine was 22 months when I took him & the good thing is the playscape is large enough and sturdy enough that a parent can tag along.

My major complaint was with the staff: (1) The place was absolutely packed, there were at least 100 kids/parents there and I found just ONE girl working there! (2) The staff was a little rude. When I finally found someone who worked at this place, and asked her for some information on a birthday party, she snapped, it’s online and walked away! (3) and this is my BIGGEST issue: Kiddie Klub runs a child care in addition to the drop-in play center. The problem is that the children in the child care are LEFT ALONE to mix and mingle with the general public during playtime! I even witnessed a child care member being struck in the face by a kid who dropped in for open play. It took myself and another lady to SEARCH THE PLACE looking for someone in charge of watching the day care children! Allowing a child that has been entrusted to the care of a child care facility, to interact with the general public really defeats the purpose (and safety) of screening employees of a daycare, which is a State requirement!!

That being said, I think if management gets its act together, Kiddie Klub would be amazing, as it has such great potential!

Organized, clean, and fun smilies/smiley.gif My kids loved it, they are 2 and 3 1/2 years old. We have went back 3 or 4 times already. Management was very helpful. I asked about childcare and their playcare service offered.. She gave me lots of flyers and explained each service. Cafe was AWESOME too. They had really good sandwhiches and a huge selection for drinks and snacks.
