Local Michigan author James Robert Miller sent me two of his books for review, A Spider Lives in My Belly Button and A Monstrous Smile. Both books feature the characters Basie and Paisley. I enjoy reading books from local authors with my children. It's great to see the creativity we have right here in Michigan.

Just recently, James sent me his most recent book, A Moose in the Basement. - a cute tale of many different animals living in a monster's home. And, of course, Basie and Paisley make an appearance.

My kids really enjoyed the Basie and Paisley books. I don't want to give away too much, but they loved how Paisley shared with us the things in life that give her a

monstrous smile, how Basie told us all the things he enjoys doing with his friend, the spider that lives in his belly button, and Willoughby tells us about the many very different animals living in his home.
