Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac was established in 1942 and is the oldest and largest homeless shelter in Oakland County. It has evolved into the largest and oldest faith-based outreach to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families. Grace Centers of Hope (GCH) provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

Grace Centers of Hope is a non-profit Christian organization committed to positively changing the lives of the homeless, addicted and unwanted through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, personal accountability, life skills education and work-related programs. The foundation of change is the local church which encourages residents to become strong in faith and independence while it lovingly promotes a sense of belonging within a community that truly can be called "home."

Grace Centers of Hope typically has 75 women, 40-50 children, and 100 men all there at the same time. Last year Grace Centers of Hope turned away about 5,000 women and there is a three month waiting list to get in.

Giving hope to the helpless since 1942, Grace Centers of Hope is one of southeast Michigan’s oldest and largest service providers for the homeless.Today, Grace Centers of Hope is considered one of the leading faith-based organizations in Southeastern Michigan, confronting issues of homelessness, addiction, poverty, abuse and spiritual emptiness on a daily basis. On any given night, Grace Centers of Hope provides transitional and emergency shelter to 150-200 men, women and children, in addition to serving more than 100,000 meals each year.
