Bay Court Park, on beautiful Greens Lake in Clarkston, is a fantastic place to go for free family fun. The park is impeccably maintained and even has a beach for free swimming.

I'm very impressed with Bay Court Park. The park is beautifully designed. The long driveway takes you to a large parking lot in the center of the park. The central parking location is ideal as it is extremely easy to access the park's many features without having to hike too far.

Bear Creek Nature Park is an impressively clean 107-acre park on West Snell road just east of Orion road in Rochester. The park is maintained by the Charter Township of Oakland Parks and Recreation Commission.

Sledding at Beverly Park in The Village of Beverly Hills is a blast. The sled hill at Beverly Park is among the finest and well-organized sledding hills in Oakland County.

Our kids really enjoyed the sled hills at Bloomer Park. The park is open Th-Sunday from 9a-5p during the winter. On Saturdays and Sundays there is usually someone in the main booth and admission is 5 dollars. If you go on Thursday or Friday, you likely won't encounter anyone taking toll money. They won't open the sled hills to the public unless conditions are ideal for sledding. Once you enter the park, cross the main parking lot and veer off to the right to follow the path to parking for the sled hill.

My husband and I have always loved Bloomer Park. Their giant playscape at the front of the park was a natural attraction for us once we started having kids. Playscape aside, Bloomer is a neat place full of manicured paths and history to explore.

Our backyard has a hill that we use frequently with a slip 'n slide in the summer and for sledding in the winter. But, it does not compare with the hills at Borden Park in Rochester Hills. The entire park is surrounded by huge hills to keep it secluded from the surrounding main roads.  Anyway, it makes for some fun sledding. We've seen other kids there, and lots of sled tracks, too, but fortunately, it's never been too crowded.  There's lot of sledding ground to be had! The hills might not be big enough for adult thrills but it's perfect for kids under 10.

Central Park in Milford boasts plenty of free options for children's activity while being less than a five-minute walk from Milford's downtown district.

Central Park's most dominant feature that will catch your eye is the massive playscape in the center of the park. The playscape is flanked by several swing-sets and has plenty of space to roam even on the park's busiest days.

Civic Center Park is located in Madison Heights, Michigan on 13 Mile Rd. just west of John R. Road.

Civic Center Park is most famously known for its large sled hill as it seems to be featured on local news after every large snowfall. The sled hill, while it lacks a lot of amenities, is impressive. It's very wide across the top to accommodate large groups of sledders. The sled hill at Civic Center Park is very close to the parking lot.
