It's Murphy's law. I started prepping dinner early by boiling some ribs for 2 hours, and then marinating them in our favorite BBQ sauce for 4 hours. I went outside to get the grill heated, and it would not start. Wouldn't you know it, we were out of propane. I was not about to give up on the ribs, so I called Lowe's and asked if they did propane refills.
I figured most other places would be closed on a Sunday at 6:30. Lowe's confirmed they did have propane. Lowe's told me to pull up at the lumber yard, leave the tank in the car, go in and pay, and then swap the propane tank for a full one. This was so easy. Basically, I was able to pull up right to the Lowe's door so no time was wasted parking. I went in the store and the register was right at the entrance. I paid $19.90 for a tank of propane. The cashier phoned to let someone know that I needed to make a trade. I went outside, got my propane tank and a gentleman swapped it for a full one. The only downfall is that Lowe's doesn't do propane refills. So, if you knew your propane tank was running low and you wanted to top it off before it ran out and left you high and dry, you'd be wasting whatever you had left in the tank.
But, overall, Lowe's was so simple and so quick. I was able to get back home and get my ribs on the grill in no time!
