If your kids love an indoor waterpark but you don't want to trek to northern Michigan, the Best Western Sterling Inn Indoor Waterpark is a good local alternative. It has plenty to offer kids from little ones on up to about age 9. There's one side that is set up for the younger kids while the other side offers a water slide, lazy river, hot tub and large splashing area.

We actually made it out for the first time to the Best Western Sterling Inn for their New Year's Splash Bash. My son said the water slide was awesome and I saw him enjoying the lazy river as well. The nice part about it is that it's open pretty late so once the kids are all tuckered out, you can head right to your hotel room and hit the hay.

This place is a huge attraction for local families and there's no other indoor waterpark nearby like this. It can get pretty packed. My daughter loved making a ton of new friends while playing in the splash area.
 
Overall, our kids had an awesome time. They were all smiles hopping from play area to water slide to hot tub to lazy river... By the end, they were exhausted!
The waterpark is open to those staying at the hotel. However, the hotel was kind enough to give us waterpark passes to give away in our I Love MI! contest.
 
If you're looking for something fun and safe for the kids to do next New Year's Eve or as a nice getaway for bored kids, Best Western Sterling Inn Indoor Waterpark is a good option. The kids can hit the waterpark, and if they need a break from the water, they can enjoy the arcade or during the Splash Bash - the clown and magician shows. There's also a bounce house in the lobby during Splash Bash, but you won't find many kids in there since they all head to the waterpark in a hurry.
