Gluten-Free Cinnamon Raisin Muffin Recipe

August 29, 2011

altI know the rigors of cooking and baking treats for a child with severe food allergies. Thankfully there are many gluten-free recipes you can make at home to ensure you're baking treats that don't have allergins your child may be sensitive to.

The publishers of The Cooking Light Gluten-Free Cookbook sent this recipe for Gluten-Free Cinnamon Raisin Muffins and Streusel. I'm happy to report that they'll be sending me a copy of their book to give away to one of our readers.

Gluten-Free Resources for Food Allergies and Celiac Disease

September 07, 2011

altSeptember 13 is National Celiac Awareness Day. Long before my days of having to remove gluten from my daughter's food allergies and Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE), I was well aware of Celiac disease. The more articles I post regarding severe food allergies and gluten-free recipes, the more response I receive regarding Celiacs. It's refreshing to see that the education about Celiac Disease and gluten-free diets is paying off. There are now a lot more resources to help people coping with Celiacs.

Gluten Free Products - Reviews

September 15, 2010

altAfter years of searching, sampling, cooking, tasting, dumping and trial and error, I've finally narrowed down my favorite gluten free products for specific foods. This stuff is expensive, so once you find something you like, you tend to marry it.

Gluten-free Halloween Candy

October 13, 2010

altHolidays can be a tough time for gluten-free children (and adults). Halloween has to be the toughest. In previous Halloweens, I've always erred on the side of caution when it came to gluten-free candy from the trick-or-treat bag. It turns out there are several Halloween staples that don't contain gluten. Great news for my kids, bad news for my husband. His "husband pile" of candy won't be as large this year now that I know these Halloween staples are gluten-free:

Gluten Free Cauliflower Hamburger Recipe

September 15, 2010

When I was young, my mom would always spruce up our hamburgers with some seasoned bread crumbs and an egg mixed into the ground beef. I got used to having burgers with more flavor, but needed to find a gluten free way to do it for my kids.

Gluten Free Cauliflower Hamburger Recipe

February 09, 2010

Gluten Free Cauliflower Hamburger Recipe - Ok, the name sounds pretty weird, but my daughter loves these. It is made with ground pork and the cauliflower makes the meat really juicy. You could probably make these with ground beef as well, I just haven't tried it yet. And, these are gluten free, dairy free... pretty much everything free!

Gluten Free Dairy Free Meatloaf Recipe

January 07, 2010

Gluten Free Dairy Free Meatloaf Recipe. I made this for my daughter who has several allergies and she loved it. My husband, who has eaten the traditional meatloaf, also said this was good. Please note that I did not measure anything so these are estimates. Also, feel free to adjust anything to your liking. The recipe is very flexible.
