Il Pallazo di Bocce is located in Lake Orion on Lapeer and is a great combination of delicious Italian food and indoor bocce fun for all. The restaurant is very spacious with high ceilings and offers plenty of seating as well as six indoor full-length bocce courts for play. There is also a separate courtyard area at the Pallazo di Bocce for private parties, and it also includes an additional 4 full length bocce courts. Il Pallazo di Bocce is so big, the noise level is non-existent and it allows for a peaceful and enjoyable dining experience.
Smackwater Jack's Cafe is the latest addition to the Downtown Rochester restaurant collection. Smackwater Jack's is off of Walnut Street at the corner of Third Street, located inside Designhaus Architecture.
After hearing friends of ours repeatedly recommend Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria, my husband and I went to try it out. Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria is a small pizzeria with only about seven tables inside. Fresco opened in 2010 and is serving up some of the finest New York-style thin crust pizza.
Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria opened in 2012 in Berkley. Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria is quite unique and worth a visit.
Pudge's Place Deli and Cafe is a casual restaurant in Troy that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is "simple" done right. There's no identity crisis here. Pudge's Place Deli and Cafe just wants to serve quality food at a fair price. No frills. Nothing fancy. Quick service. Friendly staff. And, they've accomplished that.
The Hills Bar and Grille in Rochester Hills is located in the Papa Joe's plaza and can't be missed with its metallic tower-like structure. The Hills Bar and Grille has an outdoor patio for those who like to dine outdoors, and a cross between a "fun and fine" indoor atmosphere. The Hills Bar and Grille has 30-foot ceilings that meet up with the ceiling of the second floor bar area. There are plenty of flat screen TV's for game days (30), and a giant High Definition projection screen - the largest in Oakland County. The Hills Bar and Grille also offers a private mezzanine for private parties.
The war for the Best Burger in Metro Detroit title is fierce and Smashburger has entered the hamburger fray with its first location in Oakland County. We're all winners in the burger wars! You don't have to drive too far in Oakland County to get a great hamburger.
Being that I'm a foodie-wannabe, I made it out to Downtown Rochester's Restaurant Week and headed to Penny Black on 4th street.
I had a lunch meeting at Steve and Rocky's restaurant in Novi recently. I don't make it out to the Novi area much, so I was not familiar with Steve and Rocky's, which has been around since 1998.
I had heard about Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen before its debut on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (where Kid Rock personally takes Guy Fieri to Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen, as well as Union Woodshop). I had always heard how crowded the Clarkston Union can get, so I shied away from it. But, I finally decided to get to Clarkston Union right when they open at 11am and my husband and I were happy to be the first ones at the restaurant, as it filled up shortly after.
