Review - Famous Daves is a BBQ haven. They have a huge selection of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, roasted chicken... as well as a variety of different BBQ sauces.

I think Famous Daves is one of the most "complete" restaurants in our area. While having a pink pig on a blazing neon sign doesn't scream "romantic meal," it's a fun place for the whole family.

My kids, 4 and 6, had plenty to do as they were presented a coloring book and crayons immediately by the friendly staff and were visually occupied by the TV's and TGIFriday's-like decor of the place. Famous Daves kid's meal choices were far more than the garden variety kid's meal of grilled cheese sandwich or hot dog. They had 7 choices for a Famous Daves kids meal and the portions for my son's chicken dinner and my daughter's authentic BBQ hamburger was downright impressive. Our kids loved sampling all the Famous Daves sauces at the table and thank heavens for the roll of paper towels that are at every booth. We were impressed with the portions of our meals as well and felt the restaurant was a tremendous value for what you receive for the money you pay. Our waitress and Manager on duty were more than helpful (and careful) when it came to our menu questions regarding our children's food allergy issues. The only negative I will mention about Famous Daves (other than I think the ribs are a bit too fatty for my liking) is that I had a bad experience with a carryout order before. I felt my food wasn't cooked right and the portions didn't equal to what I would have received had I eaten in. It could have been because they were busy at that time (and they were). Oh well, I think Famous Daves is a better experience "eating in" anyway.

One other point I want to mention is that Famous Daves is one of those restaurants that you can comfortably research for allergy and food sensitivity information. Plus, they are VERY helpful when dining in, to the point of me rating the customer service top notch.  At Famous Daves, they are very knowledgeable about their foods' ingredients and if you're having difficulty finding something on the menu that you can eat, they will help you put something together.  With my experience, our waiter was so nice and I felt completely comfortable about what I was eating.  No worries whatsoever that the food was "contaminated."
