While driving around with my husband trying to find some place to eat recently, we saw Santa Fe Mexican restaurant on Lapeer Rd. in Auburn Hills. I must admit, the exterior caught our attention and almost drove us away at the same time.

Santa Fe appears to be somewhat of a "dive" on the exterior, but it's very roomy and clean on the interior.

Santa Fe is truly authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant TVs are tuned into Telemundo and the menus are written spanish-first. The Santa Fe menu goes far beyond tacos and burritos and virtually everything is made from scratch. If you're craving huge portions, great prices and authentic Mexican cuisine - this is the place!

Santa Fe Mexican restaurant has a small breakfast selection of eggs and meats on the menu. Lunch and dinners include burritos, quesadillas, tortas or sandwiches, gorditas, huaraches, sopes, tostadas, nachos, fajitas, steaks, and soups.

Santa Fe Mexican Restaurant has very reasonable prices and impressive portion sizes. My Super burrito was only 5.49. You can choose from different Combo dishes that are 7.50 and include 3-4 items like a taco, tostada, enchilada, and quesadilla.

Santa Fe Mexican Restaurant has a Kids menu with items priced at 3.99. Pick from Chicken nuggets, taco, soup, salchipulpo, or huevo (eggs). Kids eat free every day from 4pm-close. 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal.

Santa Fe Mexican Restaurant has been open for almost a year now. Itll be a year next month. Santa Fe Mexican restaurant is family owned by a husband and wife team that moved here from Mexico 13 years ago.

Sant Fe Mexican restaurant hours are 10p-10p Monday - Friday and 10a-12a on Saturdays.
