Oakland County Parks Christmas Tree Recycling

The recycled Christmas trees will be turned into mulch and made available to the public free of charge for 2011. There is zero fee to drop off the trees and all ornaments and tinsel must be removed prior to disposal. Trees can be dropped off any day from December 26th, 2011 through January 16th, 2012 from 9a - 4p.

Free tree seedlings will be given to those who recycle their Christmas tree through the Oakland County Parks program. The seedlings will be available for pick-up in the spring at the Waterford Oaks Greenhouse. Recyclers will need to subscribe online to the Christmas Tree Recycling category at DestinationOakland.com to receive notification for the seedling pick-up date.

Oakland Township Christmas Tree Recycling: Oakland Township will collect used Christmas trees from December 26th, 2011 through January 15th, 2012 to be used for a habitat restoration project. Please remove all tinsel. Trees will be collected at the Sheriff's substation. 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, MI 48306

Royal Oak Christmas Tree Recycling: Christmas Trees will be collected curbside for recycling starting December 26, 2012 - January 13, 2012. Collection will occur on your regular trash day by a private contractor. Please place tree at the curb by 7:00am without decorations, lights, stands, and plastic bags. Between 1/13/2012 and 3/31/2012 residents may take the tree to the SOCRRA facility on Coolidge Hwy for disposal.

Rochester Hills Christmas Tree Recycling: Christmas Tree dropoff dates will be December 31st, 2011 from 10a-4p, January 1st, 2012 from noon-4p, January 7th, 2012 from 10a-4p and January 8th, 2012 from noon-4p. The dropoff location is the Clinton River Watershed Council (1115 W. Avon Road). For Rochester Hills residents only. Only natural trees will be accepted. All decorations must be removed.
