Oakland County Parks Summer Jobs Opportunities

High school students, home-bound college students or anyone looking to earn some summer cash can get a jump on summer employment opportunities offered by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Oakland County Parks and Recreation will accept applications for seasonal employment from February 13th through February 27th, 2012.

Despite the deadline passing for 2012, we received this notification that Oakland County Parks and Recreation is still hiring for lifeguards and seasonal program leaders. Here's the release:

Oakland County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for seasonal lifeguards for a limited time. Hurry! Trainings fill quickly. Lifeguards are trained by Oakland County Parks and Recreation and must participate in regular in-service training to maintain the highest level of lifeguard skills.

Oakland County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for seasonal program leaders for a limited time only. Program Leaders provide recreational activities for park visitors of all ages. Work in a team setting to plan, implement and evaluate program for specialized program areas and populations, mobile recreation and special events. Mobile Recreation includes inflatables, climbing tower, fishing, geo-caching and other fun recreation programs!

Oakland County Parks and Recreation employs 450 seasonal employees annually.

Seasonal positions include: summer clerical, lifeguard, program leader, program specialist, seasonal laborer, business assistant, park attendant, student and internship.

Seasonal summer employment is limited to 13 weeks. Applicants for these summer jobs must be at least 16 years of age to apply.

Applications for summer employment must be submitted by Monday, February 27th, 2012. Apply online at www.oakgov.com/jobs. After February 27th, you can check the OakGov website for dates for next year's seasonal hiring period. Dates are usually released for next year by December.
