310 Station honor’s the locations’ history as a railroad stop/depot. The restaurant motif from floor to ceiling is trains, trains, trains… and BBQ. The decor and layout is extremely well-thought out and provides a extremely fun atmosphere as soon as you enter the restaurant. There’s even a slow-moving model train overhead that circles the bar – very cool! Eat in or dine outside – A large bay garage door opens up to a large patio seating area where you can people watch the downtown Indian River traffic.

My first visit to 310 station took place just a few weeks after their official opening and you can tell they’re still working out some minor kinks. For instance, there was no proper signage from the road to identify the new restaurant. The menu is on paper and seems a little light (more menu info below). I was told newer menus and perhaps more menu items would soon find its way into the restaurant.
310 Station offers authentic (meats are smoked out back) BBQ sandwiches and sliders, hamburgers, nachos, brats, hot dogs, and other finger foods. Sure, it’s a simplistic menu, but the BBQ is actually very tasty – especially with the 4 yummy signature sauces! 310 also has authentic homemade BBQ sides which are delicious – sweet coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad and more. The smallish menu is big on value – the grab ‘n go is very affordable and the portions are above adequate. I did, however, find myself wishing they offered french fries as a menu option. Oh well, The Brass Rail bar down the street has awesome fries.

You can wash down your BBQ with cocktails, beers, and Michigan-based IPAs at the bar. The fun lasts past dinner time as 310 Station offers live music on the patio and Karaoke nights at the bar.
You can tell that the owner(s) of 310 did not skimp on the amenities when creating the bar/restaurant. Great affordable food, family friendly prices, and a fun bar for date nights in Northern Michigan.
