The Highlands at Harbor Springs review, pics, and info. Formerly known as Boyne Highlands, the resort has been transformed and has undergone some impressive upgrades and renovations since our last visit.

The Highlands at Harbor Springs Review

The Highlands Resort is situated on a large open ground and has different lodges for accommodations, ranging from the Main Lodge to homes, townhouses, cottages, and the Heather Highlands Inn which is where we stayed.

The Heather Highlands Inn has a variety of different room layouts. We stayed in a Loft Deluxe, which is 960 Sq Ft and includes one queen sized bed in the master suite, two queens in the upstairs loft, one sofa sleeper, a gas fireplace, a kitchenette including full size fridge, convection microwave, and granite countertops, 2 full baths, and a living room. It sleeps a max of 8.

The layout of the grounds at The Highlands Resort is totally convenient with everything all in place and in walking distance. The Boyne Highlands Resort offers many activities that are complimentary to guests staying at any of the lodges… putt putt on real greens, par 3 golf course, chair lift rides to the top of the mountain with a great view of the bay, yard games like soccer and sand volleyball, tennis, indoor/outdoor pool (nicely warmed at 98 degrees), bike park, guided bike rides, bonfires, movie nights, horse-drawn carriage rides, fitness rooms, and more. There are also additional activities for a fee such as zip lining, 5-star golf courses, dining, spa, yoga, and a dinner theatre.

There is dining at the Main Lodge in the center of it all, with more dining located at the larger golf courses. A total of 11 places to grab something to eat.

The Highlands at Harbor Springs Springs Zipline Info

There are two different zipline adventures at The Highlands. The first is the guided 2.5-3 hour Zipline Adventure Tour which features a series of 8 ziplines that take you to an elevation of 3,250 feet. The adventure begins at the top of the mountain, followed by a descent of over 50 stories as you are routed through trees and across the slopes on your way back to the base area.

The second is the Twin Zipline adventure which is the longest zipline experience in Michigan. If you opted for the two-ride experience, the entire process (from harness to platform) takes between 45 minutes and an hour. Rides begin at the middle of the slope, and run to the base area for a distance of over 1350 feet. This is the zipline we rode since we were short on time. The zipline adventure tour also ends with this twin zipline.

Overall, Our The Highlands at Harbor Springs review states that the Highlands gives you a true resort experience in an up north setting. Everything you need is all in one place, and the bonus is that there’s even more fun nearby in the great cities of Petoskey and Harbor Springs. We’re looking forward to coming back to visit the resort’s truest intention – ski season!
