Southfield Celebrates Black History Month – Southfield Pavilion (26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, MI)
This FREE event (suitable for ages 12 and up) will feature the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, a lecture by its founder Dr. Khalid el-Hakim, a Black-owned Business Marketplace and much more. Parks & Recreation will offer Black History Month Activity Bags containing activity sheets, stickers, themed coloring sheets, crayons, crafts and more for $5 each (while supplies last) by calling P&R at 248-796-4620. Riley Park Ice Rink Star Wars Skate – Riley Park Ice Rink Special Event. Riley Park ice rink is open daily, weather permitting. Hours are daily from 10a-10p. Skating is FREE to the public. Bloomer Park Making Maple Syrup – 11a-12:30p OR 1p-2:30p (2 sessions to choose from). Learn the first steps to make your own Maple Syrup. From identifying various species of maple tree, to the tree tapping process and sap boiling setup. You’ll leave with all the knowledge you need to make your own syrup and the Spile, Tubing, and Bucket to tap your own Maple Tree.
