Stony Creek Fall Wagon Tours – at Stony Creek Metropark – 90 minute wagon tours. Book either a 10a or 1p ride. Hop on the tractor-drawn wagon and enjoy the beauty of fall along a Nature Trail. Along the way, staff will share stories about Stony Creek’s history and various natural features. After your tour, enjoy a roaring campfire to celebrate the season. Program is weather dependent. Ages 3+. $5 per person. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 586-781-9113. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark. Madison Hts Holiday Tree Lighting
Madison Hts Holiday Tree Lighting is Hosted by the City of Madison Hts at Civic Center Plaza at the Gazebo. The Mayor will welcome Santa and present him with an official key to the City. Visitors will enjoy cookies and cocoa while listening to seasonal music. Following the tree lighting program, children may wish to get their photos taken with Santa and Mrs Claus inside the Breckenridge Room of the Library. As this event is privately sponsored, the Mayor asks the community to help keep this tradition going, by making a donation payable to “City of Madison Heights – Christmas Light Fund.”. Stony Creek Metropark Kids Night at the Nature Center – Drop your kids off and enjoy your Friday night, kid-free. Your kids will have a blast as they meet the nature center animals, including our nocturnal opossum. They’ll get a chance to explore outside along a trail, looking for tracks in the moonlight, gazing at the growing moon, and listening for owl calls and coyote howls. Kids will warm up around our campfire and cook s’mores. Snacks will be provided. Ages 7-12. $10 per child. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 586-781-9113.
