Canterbury Village Michigan Dog Fest – Bring your furry friend and head to Canterbury Village for a tail waggin’ good time. Kids can have fun looking for paw prints around the village, which they can turn in for candy and other small prizes. Troy Dogs Only Swim – TFAC Doggie Splash at Troy Family Aquatic Center (248-524-3484). 45 minute dogs only swim. Dogs must be 6 mos old with current dog license. $12 for Troy Dog Park Members, $15 for residents, $18 for non-residents. Tags must be worn the day of event. Aggressive dogs will not be allowed or will be asked to leave w/out refund. Dogs under 30 lbs from 10a-10:45a, 31-61 lbs from 11a-11:45a, 61 lbs plus from noon 12:45p. Must register by September 9. Dog Day at the Oak Park Pool (248-691-7555) – Each registered dog receives a gift and a 55 minute dog-only swim session. Different 55 minute blocks of time per weight of dog. The owners must provide proof of current vaccinations and a dog license before the dog is allowed entry. All dogs must be at least four months old. Dogs displaying aggressive behavior will be asked to leave without refund. Register your dog and learn about cost info at 248-691-7555 and indicate your dog’s weight (under 30 lbs, 30-69 lbs, or 70 lbs plus)
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim – at Waterford Oaks County Park. All dogs owners must show valid Michigan dog license and proof of current vaccinations at the time of the event. Dogs swim by weight category. Three swims. Noon-12:50p – 70lbs plus, 1p-1:50p – 31lbs-69lbs, 2p-2:50p – 30lbs and under. Pre-registration cost is $10/dog and includes admission, contest entry and one 50-minute swim session. On-site registration is $15/dog if availability allows. To register, call 248-858-0916. Barkin’ In The Park at Gilbert Willis P (248-624-2850). Hosted by Wixom Parks & Rec. Food, dog walking trail fun pet vendors, K9 show, talent show, and more. A pet photographer will be on hand All pets must be on a leash. This is a FREE event to attend.
Wag-O-Ween – Get your pup dressed up and ready for Halloween at the dog costume contest! Three weight category contests where winners will be chosen in each weight category. Limited to the first 40 dogs registered in each weight category. Enjoy the complimentary photo booth. Hosted by The Mall at Partridge Creek.
Troy Daisy Knight Dog Park Halloween Events – Howl-O-Ween – Bring your costumed dog to the puppy patch to play and show off their costume. Photo spot, treats, and dog park access included. Register by 10/27. $5 Dog Park Member / $8 Resident / $11 Non Resident. Half-hour time slots scheduled by dog weight. Pre-registration required. Registration link.
Detroit Grand Circus Dog Park Halloween Costume Party – Owners are encouraged to dress their pets to impress for a chance to win a prize in one of these categories: Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Most Creative Costume, and the Best Pet & Parent combination. The annual event will also feature Halloween Themed games and gifts for dogs as well as treats for their parents and DJ spinning tracks. Hosted by the Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Westland MLK Celebration and Remembrance Walk – The City will start with a remembrance walk to commemorate his life and legacy followed by our annual ceremony to express how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had inspired us, what his message means to us, and to help inspire people to continue with his message and help make the world a more inclusive and righteous place for us and our children to live in.
