Wint Nature Center Happy Birthday Lorax – Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Enjoy a reading of the story before taking a stroll to observe the world around us. Learn about ways to protect the birds, bees and trees. We’ll end with a craft that you can take home and enjoy. Suitable for all ages. $5/person. Pre-registration with payment required. Wint Nature Center Sap to Syrup – A short hike to learn about the history and learn how some sugaring tools are used. Then, sample different grades of maple syrup. Some sweet maple treats and take-home maple-based recipes are also on the menu. Some tasty treats may be made in factories that process nut products. This program is suitable for all ages. Wint Nature Center Puddle Jumper Series – at Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park 248-625-6473. Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the great outdoors. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and related activity.
