Kensington Metropark Maple’s Sweet Story – Take a guided walk through the farm’s Sugar Bush. Learn how
to pick the right maple tree, then watch how maple trees are tapped and sap is collected. Stop by the French and Native American camps to hear and see how these techniques have changed through the years. Then visit the Sugar Shack to see and smell the sap being boiled down into maple sugar. Real maple sugar products will be available for purchase. All ages. $3 per child / Adults $5. Southfield Daddy Daughter Dance – Young ladies ages 2-14 and younger are invited to dress their best for this special night. Each girl will receive a special gift. Southfield Great Marshmallow Drop
Southfield Great Marshmallow Drop – 15,000 marshmallows are dropped from a helicopter. Participants then need to collect only one marshmallow that can be exchanged for a prize. There are four drop zone groups: Children ages 4 years and younger; children ages 5-7; and children ages 8-12. The drop for individuals with disabilities will begin at 11:30a. Kensington Metropark Fun on the Farm – from 10a-11a OR 1p-2p. Fun on the Farm is an indoor and outdoor children’s series that focuses on different animals and aspects of farming each session. Each program will include a story, hands-on activity, and a chance to get up close and personal with that week’s topic. Ages 2-6. $5 per child / Adults FREE.
