Wint Nature Center Sap to Syrup – A short hike to learn about the history and learn how some sugaring tools are used. Then, sample different grades of maple syrup. Some sweet maple treats and take-home maple-based recipes are also on the menu. Some tasty treats may be made in factories that process nut products. This program is suitable for all ages. Oakland Mall Easter Bunny Pet Photos – Photo packages are available for purchase. Please enter the mall through the main entrance, near the food court. Cats and dogs, only. All pets must be in a carrier or on a 6 ft leash at all times. Owners are responsible for being in control of their pets at all times. Pets are not allowed in stores.
Sensory Santa at Oakland Mall – Individuals with all spectrums of special needs and their families are invited to a private photo session where extra care is taken to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs to make this a magical holiday experience. There is no admission charge. Photo packages will be available for purchase for the event. Pre-registration is required and can be booked online.
Oakland Mall Pet Photos with Santa – Enter through the main entrance near the food court. All pets must be in a carrier OR on a 6ft leash. Pets are not allowed in stores. Owners are responsible for being in control of their pets at all times. Pre-registration required.
Troy Stage Nature Center “EGG”stravaganza – 4 timeslots to choose from. Families will take a short spring hike on their own and not with a guided group. At stops along the way, participate in egg games and activities. $14 per child. For more info, visit troynaturesociety.org.
Troy Stage Nature Center Earth Day Celebration – 86 Plastic will give a short program to highlight that less than 5% of what we send to recycling is truly repurposed. She will be presenting ways to replace common household (plastic) items for a more sustainable swap. Learn how to reduce waste, reuse what you have, and even save money. Wint Nature Center Puddle Jumper Series – at Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park 248-625-6473. Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the great outdoors. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and related activity. Each child will receive a craft kit to take and make at home. This series meets the second Friday of each month. Cost: $4/child. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Oakland Mall Witchypoo Revue – Dance and sing along with Witchypoo and all of her Halloween friends in a musical spooktacular. 1p, 2p, 3p, & 4p. Each performance will be followed by a brief meet & greet. No ticket required. Arrive early for best viewing. Limited seating available. Costumes welcome.
