Lathrup Village Back2School Rally – at Lathrup Village Municipal Complex. Free backpacks and school supplies will be available for at least 300 local students ages 5-18. Lots of free activities family activities too including bounce houses from Oakland County Parks & Recreation. Free food, climbing tower, resources for families. This is a FREE event. Waterford Oaks County Park FREE Platform Tennis Open House – Waterford Oaks County Park Near Paradise Peninsula Playscape. This free clinic is a opportunity to test drive the sport of platform tennis. Extra equipment available on site for first time players or those who do not have their own paddles or paddle balls. Instruction from Waterford Paddle Club. Dress for the weather. Tennis shoes required for the courts. No membership required for clinic. No pre-registration or previous experience needed. Meadow Brook Hall and Gardens Perennial Plant Sale – A large variety of Michigan grown perennials, including many from the Meadow Brook Hall gardens, will be available at very reasonable prices. Credit cards accepted. This is a FREE event to attend. MORE INFO.
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim – at Waterford Oaks County Park. All dogs owners must show valid Michigan dog license and proof of current vaccinations at the time of the event. Dogs swim by weight category. Three swims. Noon-12:50p – 70lbs plus, 1p-1:50p – 31lbs-69lbs, 2p-2:50p – 30lbs and under. Pre-registration cost is $10/dog and includes admission, contest entry and one 50-minute swim session. On-site registration is $15/dog if availability allows. To register, call 248-858-0916.
