Red Oaks Nature Center Maple Magic – Maple syrup is an icon of our region. Learn to identify maple trees, take a hike to tap a tree and taste the sap. We will teach you the tools, tips and methods needed to make your own batch of maple syrup at home. Taste some sweet maple treats and take home maple-based recipes. Some tasty treats may be made in factories that process nut products. This program is suitable for all ages. Cost: $7/person. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Spring Fling Egg Hunt – Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:45p (toddler egg hunt) through 9p – six 45-min time slots available. (flashlight egg hunt for tweens & teens)
Grab eggs and hunt for the golden ones, then turn them in for treats. Mr Bunny will be there, so bring your camera and a basket to carry your goodies. A petting farm and train ride will be available at the event too. Check-in a half hour before your registration time. The hunt begins promptly at the scheduled time on your receipt and all eggs are usually found within 10 minutes. This event will go rain or shine. Bring your munchkin to the nature center for a seasonal story and a related hands-on, nature-based discovery activity. Cost is $4/child. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Homeschool sessions are adapted for two age groups: Ages 6-9 and ages 10-13. Cost is $10/child/session. Preregistration with payment is required by calling 248-858-0916 weekdays or register online.
