Stony Creek Metropark Maple Sugaring – March 6, 13, 20, & 27 from 10a-3p (1 hour sessions). Learn the history of sugaring and how to identify maple trees. Hike into the spring woods to tap a maple. Afterwards, return to the campfire and learn the process of boiling sap into rich maple syrup. Face coverings and social distancing are required. All ages. $5 per person. Pre-registration is required at least 1 day in advance online or call 586-781-9113. 10a-11:30a, noon-1:30p, 2p–3:30p. The Nature Center will be open to visitors and a warm campfire will be going outside with hot cocoa. S’more kits will be available for additional purchase for $1 each. Please dress for winter weather. Each family will have limited time with Santa. Register yourself and bring up to 5 people of your choice (adults and children). Kensington Metropark Snacks with Santa
Kensington Metropark Snacks with Santa – (810-227-8910, metroparks.com). A holiday season tradition at the Farm. Each visit includes a horse-drawn hayride or sleigh ride (weather dependent on which is available), a holiday sing-a-long, (complete with cozy blankets, song sheets, and jingle bells), snacks, (fruit, cookies, juice, hot cocoa, and coffee), and most importantly, a visit with Santa by the Christmas Tree.
