Take a hayride to the Maple tree grove, tap the trees, bring sap back to evaporator and watch how maple syrup is made. Your family will not only see all of the steps in producing maple syrup but they will also take part in the process. Ferndale Easter Egg-Stravaganza – Each hunt is FREE and will feature two separate areas for ages 1-4 and ages 5-12. The schedule is as follows – 1p at Garbuitt Park (end of Marie Street near Eight Mile and Pincecrest) for ages 1-4 only, 1:30p at Geary Park (Pinecrest St north of W Nine Mile Rd), 2p at Martin Rd Park (Lewiston Ave W of Hilton Rd). At Martin Road Park, children and parents will have the opportunity to see the Easter Bunny and enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, and a senior bake sale goods. This is a FREE and non-registration event. Bloomer Park Sap to Syrup Pancake Breakfast – (3 time slots available). Visit Bloomer Park and our Sugar Bush to see an old-fashioned sap-to-syrup boiling operation. We will be making syrup from trees tapped right here in Rochester Hills. Sample some real maple syrup and enjoy a pancake breakfast complete with sausage, juice and coffee.
