Chardonnay Restaurant Oxford CLOSED

Chardonnay restaurant in Oxford is now closed. The location is now The Burning Oak, a BBQ restaurant. I enjoyed the large location of Chardonnay and the friendly atmosphere. Look for a review of The Burning Oak coming soon. Hopefully the Burning Oak keeps some of the charm Chardonnay had.

Review of the old Chardonnay on North Lapeer Road in Oxford, MI.

Chardonnay is a unique restaurant with a combination of family restaurant, martini lounge bar, and English-style pub. Chardonnay is located in Oxford, Michigan and has become a hotspot for families, date nights, sports gatherings and more.

The main level at Chardonnay is a dining area for families. Upstairs is a martini bar well equipped with leather couches, marble coffee tables and a martini bar. And, downstairs is a pub with leather stadium seating, pool tables, flat screens, and a stage for music fun.

Chardonnay uses the same loaded menu for all parts of the restaurant. There is a large selection – pizza, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, pasta, ribs, seafood, and a children’s menu with nine options at $4.99. Chardonnay opens early at 7am for breakfast. The breakfast menu offers plenty of pancakes, eggs, and omelettes.

Sure, Chardonnay restaurant is a beautiful family restaurant. Just don’t go in expecting “Denny’s” prices. The prices aren’t high by any means, its just that some “family-style” restaurants have an inexpensive stigma attached. Not the case at Chardonnay. The food is excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Chardonnay’s menu is extensive and the items are priced fairly.

Chardonnay gets their breads from a bakery with the same owner and it really makes a difference. My husband’s corned beef sandwich was one of the best I’ve tried, and I give most of the credit to the bread.

Chardonnay has a cozy interior. The dark woods, a fireplace in both the family dining area and in the pub, tons of flat screen TVs everywhere, and a welcoming staff ready to please. The dining area itself is very spacious and the large booths make it easy to seat an entire family with room to spare.

The basement pub opens around 3:30pm each day. Comedy shows are held on the second Saturday of every month at the pub. Live music is featured on Saturdays, a DJ on Thursdays and Fridays, and karaoke on Thursdays with the DJ.

Our trip to Chardonnay in Oxford was enjoyable and I know we will return. We just can’t decide if it will be a family outing to the main level, or a sports date night in the pub.
