CYO Detroit Summer Camps – Catholic Youth Organization summer camps and family camps 2019 info. CYO Camps offers adventurous overnight camping opportunities for kids ages 7-16, and families of any age and size. CYO Camps has two locations along the beautiful Lake Huron shoreline – CYO Girls Camp in Port Sanilac, Michigan and CYO Boys Camp in Carsonville, Michigan – just 90 minutes North of Metro Detroit.

CYO is the only Catholic summer camp in Michigan to offer an exclusively all-girls camp and co-ed program, as well as our beloved boys-only camp and programs. Their 2019 theme “Be His Light” will focus on spending time getting to know Jesus – the source of God’s light in the world. As campers allow Jesus to shine his love into our hearts they too will shine brightly as they reflect that light to the world.

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – CYO Boys Camp – Traditional Camp
Boys ages 7-16 have freedom at camp to explore activities and camp traditions that help boys excel socially and developmentally with the guidance CYO of adult counselors and activity specialists who help safely guide their interests.

Activities Include – Archery, Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Campfires, Camping, Chapel, Climbing Wall, Explorer Hut, Evening Programs, Gaga Ball, Games, High Ropes (age 12+), Off-Site Trips, Painting, Singing, Sleep-Outs, Slingshot Range, Soccer, Swimming in Lake Huron, Teambuilding Initiatives, Volleyball… and more camp traditions!

Ages 7-9, Mini Camp, $350
Ages 7-16, Full Camp, $450

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – CYO Girls Camp – Traditional Camp
CYO Girls Camp is the ultimate place for girls to find out where they belong with new friendships, skills, and positive connections with caring staff members. CYO Girls participate in a variety of creative and adventurous camp activities and special camp traditions that reinforce a sense of belonging and identity.

Activities Include – Archery, Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Campfires, Camping, Chapel, Climbing Wall, Cookouts on the beach, Explorer Hut, Evening Programs, Gaga Ball, Games, High Ropes for ages 12+, Lanyards, Off-Site Trips, Painting, Singing, Sleep-Outs, Slingshot Range, Swimming in Lake Huron, Teambuilding Initiatives, Tie-Dye (ages 7-11), Volleyball… and more camp traditions!

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – Pioneer Camps for Boys or Girls
The Pioneer program is the ultimate CYO Camp experience for older girls or boys who ready for more skill and adventure. Campers prepare some of their own meals on a campfire and camp stove and enjoy camping at Pioneer camp with special programs on-camp for this age level only, such as our high ropes programming. Girl Pioneers meet up with the CYO Boys Pioneers for the overnight canoe trips, yet stay in separate camping facilities.

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – Co-Ed Traditional Camps at the CYO Boys Camp
Explore all the traditional activities camp has to offer in a co-ed setting. Campers will enjoy activities with just the guys or just the girls, then, join each other for meals and awesome evening programs. Girls and guys are housed separately and assigned cabins by age. Campers in this program have all the access to the camp activities listed under boys or girls traditional camp program descriptions.

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – Horse Adventure – for Boys and Girls at the CYO Boys Camp
Horseback riding teaches courage, confidence, patience, and gentleness. A Certified horse riding instructor will teach campers Western or English basic riding horsemanship and how to take care of horses at a nearby indoor/outdoor facility. Campers also participate in the camp activities listed in the traditional camp program descriptions. Campers are assigned cabin groups by age. Boys and girls are housed separately.

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – Sailing Camp – at Port Sanilac Harbor and CYO Boys Camp
This is a long standing CYO Camp tradition for older campers! Boys and girls will explore the fresh-water natural wonder of Lake Huron with expert sailing instruction at Port Sanilac Harbor. Sailing is a set of skills that kids can apply to other areas of life, not to mention teaching courage, confidence, and teamwork.
Campers will also learn spatial awareness, sense of direction, weather knowledge, knots, sailing terminology, and discipline. Campers are assigned cabin groups by age and gender, and skill groups by ability and sailing experience.

CYO Detroit Summer Camps – CYO Family Camp Weekends
Just the guys, just the girls, or the whole family. Get away from the daily business and stressors of life and spend quality with loved ones – where the strongest connection is not a wifi connection.
Father & Son (and all lads) July 20-22 is at CYO Boys Camp
Mother & Daughter (and all gals) July 20-22 is at CYO Girls Camp
Co-Ed Family Camp Aug 10-12 is at CYO Girls Camp

$85 for mom, dad, or extended adult family members, and $65 per child ages 5-14. Children under 5 are free but require full parent supervision.
