Dannon Oikos Yogurt Triple Zero Review

Dannon Oikos Yogurt Triple Zero review, ingredients, nutritional info, and direct comparison to other 0% fat, high-protein Greek yogurt brands (Yoplait).

I decided to try Dannon Oikos yogurt primarily because of the unique ads I saw for the product this fall. I thought it was strange that Dannon Oikos became an official sponsor of the National Football League. The commercials, complete with charismatic NFL superstar Cam Newton touting yogurt, definitely put a masculine, bodybuilding spin on a product usually associated with 80s aerobics moms trying to cut calories and get a quick sugar fix.

I purchased Dannon Oikos Yogurt Triple Zero and a Yoplait Greek “protein packed” yogurt for comparisons. The Triple Zero in the Oikos is for zero grams of added sugar (key word: “added”), zero artificial sweeteners and zero grams of fat. Oikos did a great job of sucking me in here as none of the other similar greek yogurts had “added” suguar or artificial sweeteners either. Oikos just markets their yogurt better by splashing these facts and the 15 grams of of protein right on the cup.

Speaking of marketing and packaging… Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurt and Yoplait Greek are at polar opposites of the packaging spectrum. Dannon Oikos Greek is CLEARLY going for athletes and bodybuilders looking to supplement fat for protein with their tough-looking cup adorned with Ionic Greek columns and the ever-present NFL shield. Conversely, the Yoplait Greek yogurt is what we’re accustomed to with yogurt – pink packaging.

In addition to how the yogurts are marketed, there is quite a difference between the two Greek yogurts when it comes to ingredients and nutritional info. Dannon Oikos Yogurt offers fewer calories, SIGNIFICANTLY less sugar, and more protein than the Yoplait Greek yogurt. Dannon Oikos Greek even packs a nice fiber punch Here are the two head to head.

So, how do the 2 Greek yogurts line up taste-wise? Taste is relative but I’ll tell you I preferred the taste of Oikos a bit more while I enjoyed the taste of both yogurts. Oikos is a bit thicker when it comes to consistency so that might be a preference judgement for you to consider as well.
