The City will plant several trees, rain or shine, at the school following a brief ceremony with Councilman Ken Siver, Principal Kimberly Beckwith, teachers and students. The city of Southfield has a long history of preserving green spaces and enacting ordinances that protect the environment.

Rochester Hills Earth Day Event – Arbor Day Commemorative Tree Planting
Meadow Brook Hall
The Forestry Division conducts an annual tree-planting ceremony with the Mayor presiding and often a local scouting or youth group in attendance. Different sites are selected each year for the Arbor Day tree; Borden, Spencer, and Avondale Parks, Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farms, Meadow Brook Hall, and City Hall grounds have all been chosen in the past.
