FarmHouse Vineyards Petoskey review, pics, hours, and info. FarmHouse Vineyards is an organic winery located near Pickerel Lake and Crooked Lake in Petoskey, Michigan. It is family owned and offers up a great venue for memorable and beautiful events. FarmHouse Vineyards has one of the nicest settings I’ve been to for a wine tasting. I went with a friend and we sat in the large, well decorated barn that had a rope chandelier, dangling lights, long picnic tables, and wine barrel tables for two. It was super cozy and really made the experience fun.
The outdoor seating area at FarmHouse Vineyards has some beautiful views of the vineyards. Or, you can watch the chickens and sheep roam about.

The wine tasting at FarmHouse Vineyards was set up as a flight. We put in our order at the counter and then had a seat and waited for it to be brought out. The flight had mini chalkboard labels so you could see what each one was so you knew which one you were drinking. The one-ounce pours came in the cutest small stemless wine glasses. When ordering the wines, there wasn’t much of an explanation next to each of the wine names, so you will need to ask a staff member for more details. e.g. I prefer dryer to semi-sweet wines, so I had to ask questions to make sure I wasn’t selecting any of the sweet wines.
I enjoyed the flight. I was surprised to see how much a grape can vary from one year’s crop to the next! I actually enjoyed a 2018 wine, but did not care for the same grape’s 2019 version. It really shows how much character the grapes have from year to year.
In pure Petoskey fashion, the family owners of FarmHouse Vineyards were super friendly. You can really see how much they love what they do because they are so genuinely happy with each customer that walks in there.
I love that the FarmHouse Vineyards wines are organic. It’s impressive that they take the extra steps and put in all the extra work necessary to get this accreditation. Being that I only purchase organic as often as I can, I really appreciated this.
