I love getting together with my gal pals for girls night out fun. Years ago, we made it a New Year’s resolution to get together at least once a month. Our resolution held up and we had a blast making sure we spent plenty of quality time together all year long!
One problem we encountered early in our GNO mission… we realized it was difficult coming up with creative and fun girls night out ideas. It’s all too easy to fall into the “let’s meet for apps and drinks at ______” trap and by February, we were looking for GNOs that were a little more involved.

Once we got the idea ball rolling, my friends and I came up with some entertaining and lively ideas and incorporated them into our Girls Night Out fun. I highly recommend sitting down with your friend(s) to start throwing out ideas. It’s a good way to gauge which ideas everyone is comfortable with, what spending limits should be etc…

Fun GNO Ideas – 
Wine and Painting – Learn to paint from an expert while enjoying wine. Music sets the mood, the drinks calm your nerves, and the artist walks you through the steps of your own masterpiece. Painting with a Twist used to be all the rage and they’re still fun. There are 7 locations in Metro Detroit.

Fun Girls Night Out Ideas – Getting Crafty at AR Workshops – Kinda like paint-n-sip, but at AR Workshops of Rochester & Northville, you can make/build your own plank signs, centerpiece boxes, wood clocks, trays, framed signs, pet beds, pillow covers, chunky blankets and more. More info, OCM COUPON.
Fun GNO Ideas – Wine Strolls – I love using local Parks and Rec departments as a resource for family fun. Some have great ideas for adults too. Many offer their own Ladies Night Out Nights and fun wine strolls and night-time nature strolls for adults.
Fun Girls Night Out Ideas – Comedy Nights – We spent a great evening at The Royal Oak Music Theatre at the Whitney Cummings Show and had a blast at a show hosted by the Orion Center featuring magician/comedian Jason Abbott. Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle is next on our radar. One show you should definitely check out and they come around once a year are the fine ladies of #IMOMSOHARD – they’ll be at the Masonic Temple this weekend. Or… you can find another fun show at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle or the Fox Theatre via 313 Presents.

The Great Escape Room – The Great Escape Room in Royal Oak is part puzzle, part mystery, part scavenger hunt, and all fun! Escape rooms are every where now, but the girls and I still haunt The Great Escape Room and other Metro Detroit Escape Rooms.
Fun GNO Ideas – Cooking Classes – Fun on their own, WAY more fun with a friend. My friend and I enjoyed wine while listening to top chefs teach us great kitchen tips and educate us on fine cuisine. Then, we got to top the night off with more wine while we dined on the fabulous food the chefs prepared for us. I’ve tried one at the Rugby Grille at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. We also did a DIY Sushi class at Sur La Table in Troy at Somerset
Fun Girls Night Out Ideas – Pole Dancing Classes – Girls night out pole dancing fun! We went to Wonder Women Pole Studio in Lake Orion (NOW CLOSED) that offered GNO and private parties. The class was fun, and it was a very comfortable environment. There was nothing awkward about it. The teacher was very open and guided us toward sexier ways to move, without anyone feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed. Pole Fit Revolution in Madison Hts & in Shelby Twp offer similar experiences.
