G’s is one of my new favorite restaurants. The moment I walked in with my husband I felt like we were transported to an “up north” lodge with all the amenities of a modern sports bar. It’s both huge and comfortable at the same time.
Since G’s Pizzeria is known for their pizza and deli, we opted for a pizza and philly steak sub. Both options passed the taste test with flying colors. You can really taste the flavorful butter/garlic on their garlic pizza crust (some places you barely recognize the “flavored crust”). And the sub was made with homemade bread that was outstanding. G’s Pizzeria takes pizza to a new level with 6 different sized standard pizzas and 4 different sized deep dish pizza. Specialty pizzas include Greek, Chicken Fajita, Mexican, Piza Florentine, Vegetarian, Blt and BBQ chicken.
G’s Pizzeria offers many traditional favorites. The only two I noticed that were missing from it being a typical NY deli experience were the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. The Philly Sub we had was piled high with thin steak on it’s own, specially baked roll. You can also take any of their sandwich offerings on a whole grain, low-carb wrap.
Beyond Pizza and Deli, the choices at G’s Pizzeria are almost overwhelming. It has a fully loaded Italian menu and an equally impressive Mexican menu. Their “All American” section of the menu features ribs, shrimp, cod, veal parmesan, chicken parmesan and traditional burgers. The fully stocked menu includes many different desserts and frozen drinks. G’s Pizzeria also offers all of their foods at carryout and has catering as well as a banquet room.
From a family standpoint, I’d love to bring the kids to G’s Pizzeria. G’s Pizzeria is wide-open, offers a wide range of kids’ meals and the many TVs will keep children of all ages occupied. G’s Pizzeria is also the perfect date night place when we have the luxury of a babysitter. Their fully stocked bar, great atmosphere and awesome drink specials have me thinking that G’s Pizzeria would be a fantastic option on a Saturday Night.
A couple other points to mention is that G’s Pizzeria Lake Orion offers a frequent diners card (which we happily accepted). Also, they use no trans fat in their cooking oils and fryers.
With the great food, attention to detail and homemade items (they even make their own potato chips daily), I was quite impressed. This is the only local location. The others are in Bay City on up (north).
