An Italian family decided to start their own pizzeria. Hot Rock Pizza is not a chain. It’s a “we’ll do it our way” pizza joint. And by “their way” I mean it’s all homemade and it varies from day to day.
I went during the Hot Rock Pizza Troy lunch buffet and was very pleased with the variety and selection of foods. There is salad, soup, thick and thin crust pizzas, pasta, meatballs, breadsticks, eggplant parmigiana, mini calzones, focaccia sub sandwiches, and three different kinds of dessert. The lady who took our order said everything is homemade so it changes from day to day, depending on what the Hot Rock Pizza family is cooking. And it’s all for $5.99 per person.
The Hot Rock Pizza pizza was good and there were some very different kinds to choose from. And, that’s just going by what was available at the buffet. The menu continues to show all the unique tastes they offer.
I’m very picky when it comes to salads at a salad bar…is it fresh, is the salad a nice mix of greens or just a head of iceberg chopped into a big bowl… This was very nice. The greens could not have been any fresher.
When I first heard of where Hot Rock Pizza was located, I was a bit hesitant. It’s a pizza place in the Troy Sports Complex, in a strip mall. But, once inside, you will see that this family takes pride in their business.
Hot Rock Pizza itself is very open, clean and family friendly. Hot Rock Pizza even has a mini-game room for kids and a large room to accommodate parties. Did I mention Hot Rock Pizza caters? They have several options and menus for parties that start at just over $9.00 per person.
For a buffet-style pizza place in a strip mall, Hot Rock Pizza has a lot to offer! It’s worth checking out.
