If you’re entering Indian Springs Metropark, just follow the main park road past the golf course, the EDC is near the end of the main rd on the left and conveniently located across the street from the popular Spray ‘n’ Play and Adventure Playground.

The Environmental Discovery Center at Indian Springs is my favorite Nature Center of all the parks I’ve visited. The 2-story EDC is situated on 60 acres and features interactive displays, classrooms, a fully functioning biology lab, and an event room. In addition the educational, the beauty is astounding. Trails surrounding the EDC are well-marked to highlight the beauty of the prairie ecosystem. The back of EDC has a large pond. The upper level from inside the EDC features great views from above, and the lower level has a fascinating underwater pond viewing room! The pond also has a large path surrounding it complete with more stations to learn what habitat is lurking above, below, and near the surface.

The Environmental Discovery Center hosts homeschool programs, scout programs, school trips, and more. You can even rent the rooms in the EDC for events and birthday parties.
A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required for access to the Nature Center. Vehicle permits are on sale NOW. You can pick one up at metroparks.com OR visit your local Metropark today.
