In addition to the Nature Center, Farm Center, and waterpark, Kensington features many Metropark staples which keep millions of yearly visitors happy each year. You can explore 2 beaches, scenic trails, numerous picnic areas and rentable pavilions, ball fields, 2 boat launches, and even an orchard. Kensington, like Stony Creek Metropark, Indian Spring Metropark and other Metroparks, is known for their well-maintained, 18-hole golf course and they have a challenging 27-hole disc golf course (Black Locust) near Martindale Beach that meanders through the parks beautiful hills and trails.

Kensington Metropark Splash ‘n Blast Waterpark
(Open From Memorial Day Weekend Through Labor Day Weekend)
Splash n’ Blast features 2, 250 foot long waterslides, a giant splash pad, clean restroom and shower facilities, and affordably priced concession stand with yummy summertime treats. Splash n’ Blast is located on Martindale Beach which includes a modern playscape, picnic tables, plenty of shade area, and lots of sandy waterfront beach area – (full review, pics, and info)

Kensington Metropark Farm Center
(Open Daily From 9a-6p)
Fun and educational, the Farm Center has animals of all kinds. The animal pens, stalls, and surrounding grounds are impeccably clean and the surrounding grounds are extremely well-maintained. Kensington Farm Center hosts camps, school groups, homeschool groups, and scout programs. The barn has educational and interactive displays and can even host large groups and birthday parties for kids. Kensington Metropark Nature Center
(Open Daily – Mondays from 1p-5p, Tuesdays-Sundays from 10a-5p)
The Nature Center at Kensington Metropark offers interactive exhibits, live animals, a scenic marsh Kingfisher Lagoon overlook sitting area, miles of well-groomed nature trails, and more. The Nature Center hosts school groups, camps, even birthday parties – (full review, pics, and info)

Maple Beach Playground
(Grand Opening – Thursday, June 10 at 11a)
“The playground will have solid, rubber safety surfacing, sensory-friendly equipment, transfer-stations onto the playscape, spaces for quiet independent play, dignity landings on slides and more. The space’s layout and design concept have been reviewed and evaluated by multiple organizations through the Fun, Accessible, Inclusive Recreation (FAIR) Play Coalition, ensuring this project is accessible, and inclusive to all ages and abilities. The FAIR Play Coalition is an advisory group for this project comprised of organizations and individuals that have expertise in working with those with disabilities or who have disabilities themselves.”
