Little Medical School Summer Camps 2019 info. Little Medical School of Metro Detroit is offering summer camp sessions throughout Oakland County for children 5 – 11 years of age.

Little Medical School summer camps bring medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting and fun way. Little Medical School educational programs provide an innovative and engaging curriculum where children learn how the body works as they use real doctors’ instruments and participate in role-playing experiences.

Little Medical School lessons have been designed and developed by a team of board certified physicians and are aligned with STEM objectives.

At Little Medical School, you will use real tools that doctors use and receive your own working stethoscope. Kids will learn the anatomy of a variety of body systems and create many models, including a model of the brain, spine, eye, bone and lung. Kids will also learn how to suture, role play a pretend surgery, and much more. At the end of the week, kids will graduate and receive a diploma..

Little Medical School Summer Camps 2019 Info

Camp sessions are Monday – Friday from 9a – noon.

Each class is limited to 12 students to ensure individual attention. All Little Medical School summer camps are run by instructors who have several years of experience engaging students and have passed a background check. The cost is $225 which includes all supplies and take home activities for the week.

Little Veterinarian School School Summer Camps

At Little Vet School kids will learn how to take care of a pet and explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Using a stuffed animal dog, kids will learn how to take an assessment, care for wounds, apply stitches, and give medication. Kids will also learn about cat anatomy and body language as well as how to reduce your cat’s stress and make a fun cat toy. At the end of the week, kids will graduate and receive a diploma.

3-Day Mini Camps

Little Medical School & Little Vet School mini camps are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2 hours each day.

3-Day Mini Camps 2019 Schedule

Wilderness Medicine – In this 3 day mini camp, students will learn how to identify poisonous snakes and treat a snake bite, learn how to apply a tourniquet and splint a broken leg, discuss ways to clean water so it is safe to drink and use, practice treating hypothermia and receive their own thermal blanket, and much more! Students will receive a diploma when they graduate at the end of the course.

  • Clarkston Schools – June 25-27 – 10a-noon

Little Medical School – Heart, Lungs & Digestion – In this 3 day mini camp, students receive their own working stethoscope and learn how the heart works. They will make a model of a lung, participate in an activity to act out the digestive process, learn how to suture when they role-play a surgery, and much more! Students will receive a diploma when they graduate at the end of the course.

  • Canton Parks and Rec – July 9-11 1p-3p
  • Howell Parks and Rec – June 25-27 9:30a-11:30a

Little Vet School – All About Dogs! – In this 3 day mini camp, students will learn the importance of proper pet nutrition, learn how to care for wounds, apply stitches, how to check for ticks, how to administer medication, and learn about their pet’s immune system and vaccinations. Students take home their stuffed dog and receive a diploma when they graduate at the end of the course.

  • Clarkston Schools – July 23-25 – 10a-noon
  • Howell Parks and Rec – July 9-11 – 9:30a-11:30a
