Little Medical School Summer Camps 2018 info. Little Medical School of Metro Detroit is offering summer camp sessions throughout Oakland County for children 5 – 11 years of age.

Little Medical School summer camps bring medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting and fun way. Little Medical School educational programs provide an innovative and engaging curriculum where children learn how the body works as they use real doctors’ instruments and participate in role-playing experiences.

Little Medical School lessons have been designed and developed by a team of board certified physicians and are aligned with STEM objectives.

Throughout the week, students will learn about tools doctors use and receive their own real stethoscope. They will also create many models, including a model of the brain, spine, eye, bone and lung. Campers will learn how to suture, role play a pretend surgery, and much more! Children will graduate at the end of the week and receive a diploma. ***Children must have completed kindergarten.

Little Medical School Summer Camps 2018 Info

Camp sessions are Monday – Friday from 9a – noon.

Each class is limited to 12 students to ensure individual attention. All Little Medical School summer camps are run by instructors who have several years of experience engaging students and have passed a background check. The cost is $225 which includes all supplies and take home activities for the week.

Little Veterinarian School School Summer Camps

Does your child love animals? Little Veterinarian School provides hands-on activities that will actively engage children as they learn how to take care of a pet and explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Throughout the week, students will use their stuffed dog to learn how to take an assessment of their pet, care for wounds and stitches, and give their pet medication. They will learn what foods their pet needs to stay healthy, and those foods to avoid. Children will also learn about cat anatomy, cat body language, how to reduce their cat’s stress, and how to make a cat toy. They will graduate at the end of the week and receive a diploma. ***Children must have completed kindergarten.

New this Summer! – I’m a Pediatrician & Wilderness Medicine Mini Camps!

Little Medical School mini camps are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10a-noon. The cost is $110 and includes all supplies and take home materials.

Little Medical School Summer Mini Camps 2018 Schedule

I’m a Pediatrician! – In this 3 day mini camp, students will learn how to take care of a baby. They will begin by adopting an infant. Next, they will learn how to examine, diaper, bathe, feed, and burp their baby. Students will discuss how to keep a baby safe and learn how to perform the Heimlich maneuver and infant CPR. Children will take home their baby doll and diploma when they graduate at the end of the course.

Wilderness Medicine – In this 3 day mini camp, students will learn how to identify poisonous snakes and treat a snake bite, learn how to apply a tourniquet and splint a broken leg, discuss ways to clean water so it is safe to drink and use, practice treating hypothermia and receive their own thermal blanket, and much more! Students will receive a diploma when they graduate at the end of the course.
