Luca’s Chophouse Rochester Hills CLOSED

Luca’s Chophouse Rochester Hills CLOSED – Luca’s Chophouse suffered from poor reviews on their way to closing their NW corner of Rochester Rd & Tienken Rd location.

Below is our review of Luca’s Chophouse from 2013. We obviously had a nicer experience than many of the reviewers on YELP.

You’ll find similar menu items and you’ll see them working hard to impress and live up to the standards of the Rochester Chop House.

Luca’s in Rochester offers the finest cuts of all natural beef, pork and lamb. All steaks are served with the infamous and tasty zip sauce. Luca’s Chophouse Restaurant also offers pasta dishes, seafood, veal and chicken. Pricing is higher end, but not quite as high as the Rochester Chop House.

Luca’s offers outdoor seating in the warmer months. The inside is also a very cozy atmosphere that is flexible enough to make it great for a date night or a family outing. I’d feel more comfortable dressing casually and bringing my kids to Luca’s Chophouse Restaurant in jeans than I would at the Rochester Chop House.

Before the meal, Luca’s serves warm bread with a sun dried tomato butter. The bread is great – it reminds me of the bread at Kruse and Muer that everyone drools after.

Luca’s Chop House Restaurant in Rochester has excellent customer service. Our server was very kind and had great timing. Beer glasses are served chilled, wine orders are poured table side, and the food is served in just the right amount of time.

I’m not sure about other nights, but Thursdays offer live entertainment at Luca’s, and it’s not so loud that you can’t hear your conversation. I really appreciated that. So many places turn it up so loud that you can’t hear yourself. And, for a nice place like this, you want to be able to have a conversation without yelling. Luca’s manages to bring the live music to add to the atmosphere and not deter from it.

Bottom line, if I had to do a direct comparison of Luca’s Chophouse Rochester Hills and the Rochester Chop House, I would side with Rochester Chop House for a more intimate date style experience with my husband where I am feeling like it’s a true celebration; Luca’s Chophouse Restaurant would be my “go-to” for a nice night out either with my husband or the family as a whole. Both have good food and a nice ambiance, but Rochester Chophouse still has the edge.
